Our history

Since the construction of the cement plant in Apiaí, in 1967, we’ve taken a successful path based on the generation of economic, social and environmental value.

InterCement was established and the works of Apiaí production unit and Serrinha mine started.

1974

Apiaí plant started its operations

Installed production capacity:

Inauguration of the second production line of Apiaí

The second plant started its operations in Bodoquena

Acquisition of Cimento Cauê, with plants in Pedro Leopoldo and Santana do Paraíso

Creation of Cementos Yguazú (Paraguay).

Openning of the Ijaci plant, Brazil

Letter of Sustainability is published

Purchase of milling company CIMEC, representing the entry of the company to the Brazilian Northeast region.

Construction of plant in Paraguay started


Acquisition of La Preferida de Olavarría, marking the entry in the market of Aggregates in Argentina

Inauguration of the mill in Catamarca, Argentina


Purchase of 33% of Cimpor’s share capital, a company founded in 1896 in Portugal

Inauguration of the mill in L’Amalí, Argentina

PTO and integration of InterCement-Cimpor carried out

Cement mill in Paraguay starts its operations
